(english version)
Giunti Editore
This book collects the photographic work by Gianni Melotti on Giuseppe Chiari, from the documentation of performances and exhibitions of the Seventies, up to the recent and authorial re-workings of projects and ideas from those days. This exceptional collection comprises of 250 photographs, organized into ten chapters corresponding to as many events; its nature is complex, as the images constitute artwork and documentation at the same time. In this dual role, the photographs have also become an opportunity to shed light on the interventions by Giuseppe Chiari, some famous, others little known; these involve some of the protagonists of the time and their memories, also giving rise to a historical and critical reflection on the relationship between photography and artistic practices of Fluxus inspiration, and of their conceptual imprint, such as those presented by the Florentine composer.
Edited by Francesca Gallo. With a critical contribution by Lorenzo Bruni, an assay by Francesca Gallo and texts by Francesca Alinovi, Maria Gloria Bicocchi, Giuseppe Chiari, Liliana Dematteis, Gianni Melotti and Roberto Peccolo.
